This painting is part of Touchlines of Fortitude, my Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 inspired art exhibition in Twickenham, created to celebrate stories of female strength and resilience during the 2025 tournament.
Inspiration: I was inspired by the incredible athletes of the Red Roses rugby, whose dedication, courage, and resilience embody the spirit of women’s rugby. I wanted to capture not only their physical power but also the deeper sense of determination and unity that drives them.
Intention: My hope is that viewers feel the same energy and dynamism that I witnessed in the game itself, movement, impact, and the unbreakable spirit of women pushing boundaries. I also want this work to spark reflection on resilience more broadly, encouraging viewers to connect their own experiences of strength with the athletes’ stories.
Medium, subject, and style: I chose oil paint for its richness and depth, which allows me to layer bold, dynamic strokes and textures that mirror the intensity of rugby. The subject matter, female players in motion, was chosen to highlight the grace within the power of the sport. My style emphasises fluid, energetic movement to echo the fast-paced, dynamic nature of the game.

I'm a contemporary artist passionate about inspiring others to unlock their creative potential. My work has been recognised by the art world, with nominations for the Women in Art Emerging Artist Prize 2024 and the Visual Art Open 2024. I had a privilege to be selected as a wild card for the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Series 6, Heat 6.
But awards and recognition aren't what truly drives me. It's the impact my art has on people's lives. I want to create pieces that resonate deeply, that evoke emotions, and that spark a sense of wonder.

In 2025 I received Arts Council England funding for my Touchlines of Fortitude project, inspired by the Women’s Rugby World Cup, celebrating female resilience and empowerment through cultural and creative events in Richmond borough.
